Q01. 【Rc】I have no aerospace work experience, can I apply/contribute?
A

Yes, we are looking for a person who is able to work flexibly. You will be required to flexibly respond to the requirements by utilizing (and applying) your background in automotive, industrial machinery, shipbuilding, materials, and others.

Q02. 【Rc】Do you hire new graduates?
A

Yes, we do. We have hired several graduates in the past.

Q03. 【Rc】Is a graduate degree required for engineering employment?
A

No. A graduate degree is not required. It is not required. We seek to make use of academic backgrounds, but we place emphasis on practical skills such as creativity, breakthrough ability, experience, and knowledge as a matter of fact.

Q04. 【Rc】Is Japanese ability required to work at PD Aerospace?
A

No, Japanese proficiency is not required for engineers at PD Aerospace, however English OR Japanese conversational proficiency is required. For other positions, JLPT N2 is required to perform work duties.

Q05. 【Rc】What are some of the skills you would like your employees to have when they join your company?
A

Language skills, especially English, and IT skills such as PC/software are skills that we expect you to have regardless of the type of job. It would be good if you can show us what you are “good at”. Reference: Skills Checklist

A

Yes, we do. We can be involved in both engineering and non-engineering fields. (operations, public relations, general affairs, etc.)

Q07. 【Hr】Can I work across multiple engineering disciplines (e.g., design and evaluation)?
A

Yes, you can. In many cases, you will be in charge of more than one area, since development is carried out with a limited number of people. In some cases, we may straddle both airframe development and engine development. Rather, we are looking for people who are flexible and can broaden their scope of work.

A

We are organized into 5 groups. Please refer to the organization chart.( p.8 )

A

Q10. 【Hr】How does a day work?
A

We have a flextime system, so there is no definite timetable. As a percentage, most people arrive at work by 9:00.

Q11. 【Hr】What is the status of your flextime and telecommuting programs?
A

A flextime system is applied to all employees. Telecommuting (remote work) is introduced on a limited basis, depending on the type of job and the individual’s situation.

Q12. 【Hr】Where is your work location? (How is this determined?)
A

Main work location is Hekinan City/R&D Center, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Depending on the situation, there may be a flight test in Okinawa (Shimoji Island). In the future, we plan to establish an office in Tokyo.

A

4 levels: [Around] CxO class: 90k USD~, Manager class: 60k USD~, Staff class: 40k USD~, Early class: 25k USD~ *Total amount of base salary, ability salary, position salary, allowances, etc.

Q14. 【Bz】Please tell us about your future business development.
A

2027: Suborbital flight service, 2032: Orbital (satellite orbit insertion) service, 2035: Manned spaceflight service, etc. ( p.53 )

Q15. 【Bz】What exactly do you mean by “spaceplane operations”?
A

It refers to the provision of services using the developed aircraft. In the rocket industry, most of the time, we are the manufacturer, operator, and (service) seller. Our company’s scope of business is the same, up to service deployment.

Q16. 【Bz】What do you hope to offer society through your business?
A

We hope to generalize space transportation and create an era in which we can procure resources and energy from space. We also hope to broaden the scope of human activities and create new discoveries and value by making it possible for anyone to travel between space and Earth safely and inexpensively.

Q17. 【Tc】What is your current stage of development?
A

The development of the Aeronautical Flight Demonstrator (X06) has been completed and the development of the Suborbital Space Vehicle (X07) has been started.( p.54 )

Q18. 【Tc】What are some of the technical challenges with regard to spacecraft development?
A

Mainly technology related to takeoff and landing, attitude and thermal control technology for re-entry, jet/rocket switching technology, etc.

Q19. 【Hr】Do I need a visa to work at PD Aerospace?
A

Yes, for those not living in Japan, a work visa application with company sponsorship is required. If you are hired by PD Aerospace, the company will sponsor your visa application.
